Latvia : "Why we need netiquette?"

Members: Russia, МОУ Гимназия 80, Chelyabinsk and Latvia, Penkule primary shool, Dobele region
Overview Netiquette, or Net etiquette, has become an essential part of communicating over the Internet. All to often people forget that they are, in fact, communicating with other people and not just some remote computer. A standardized set of rules--known as netiquette--has been developed to aid in human-to-human communication using simple text via a computer. Additionally, with the clever use of text characters, a general set of emotion-expressing icons and acronyms has been developed to further aid online communication.

Bulgaria and Sweden: 25th sequence

We, from IT High School “Exupery” – Varna and our friends from Media Gymnasiet “Nacka Strand “ – Stockholm decided to work on this project considering our points of contact and our efforts to provide more practical education in ICT. When our students work on different school projects they often have to “surf” the net to select only the necessary, correct and complete information. With regard to this, the “hidden” messages when opening a website or following a number of links could be very harmful to every student. That’s why we are obliged to teach young people to be cautious on the net and to be aware of the possibility to face various harmful information.

German - Austria: quickcheck – Schnellkurs in Sachen Sicherheit

Nice is not easy

Nice is not easy, but it helps.

What's wrong with the internet? This new communication and information platform provides a lot of possibilities. But act carefully: Where there's light there's shadow. You will find a lot of problems using the internet. The discussion of the Blog niceisnteasy.blogspot.com/ will demonstrate, how the kids of the united Europe will discuss together dangers of the internet.

If you want to write us don't hesitate to use our email address: Mister Netiquette (E-mail: mister.netiquette AT gmx DOT net)

This is a project resulting from a three years partnership between an Austrian and two Latvian schools (from Vircava and DIKĻU)

have a look at the participating groops!

Holding our Hands

''sharing a drawing, sharing a song, we multiply our school life"

Everybody, even our little pupils of 5-6 years old watch and hear about the 'bad' use of the Internet. What is safe, what is unsafe and they carry on them at school. It was no difficult to brainstorming ideas on what we can do about this. We exchanged ideas with our partners in Portugal, we decided on the final activities and we also agreed both on this: "As much as possible interesting stuff were given to the pupils, we create, as less as possible interest for bad and negative Internet behavior* " and this attidute starts developing from the early years and at least from the pre-school education.
So we started drawing on Paint, we sent it to our partners to finish it and let them free to add on our part whatever they liked. We found a common song in both languages and we recorded it half in Greek other half in Portuguese. We compined the whole work on a ppt.file and it consists a part of our e-twinning activities http://jiportodemos.ccems.pt/ledileo/activities.htm

* This is one of our main targets in our e-twinning partnership: LE.DI.L.E.O Learning from a Distance Learning from Each Other.

Spain: What do we know about the Internet threats?

In many cases, the security professionals forget that the users (mainly childrens) do not understand many concepts. How will any children understand “Install a firewall to prevent DoS through UDP ports opened by a Trojan”?

Some training is needed, and not only for kids, but for the parents and teachers. A training course is available for free at http://www.pandasoftware.com/com/Virus_Info/virus_course
