Illegal dumps
Illegal dumps spoil our landscape and damage our environment.
It is not strange to find illegal dumps such as the one in the pictures. People living in small villages do not have a quick way to get rid of construction materials, old electrical appliances or furniture. Sometimes they start throwing away their waste in ravines by rural roads. They are not easy to see from the road, so villagers expect not to be fined.
In fact, everybody knows where these dumps are, even the police. But these environment offenders are difficult to be caught.
Have you ever thought what happens when there is a storm and water floods dumps?
Have you ever thought about the dangers for animals?
Think about it for a while and then answer the questions.

In Avila and its villages there are many illegal dumps. Next to the road many people throw rubbish from their cars and enviroment is getting very polluted . The authorities have to fine people who throw rubbish to the road.

The people throw a lot of rubbish in the rivers because many rivers are contaminated. If we didn't pollute the rivers, everybody would live better, that's why I think that the government should fine these people.

we think that the illegal dumps are very dangerous for animals and vegetation that are very important for our live.
now, the illegal dumps on the outskirts of villages are prohibited and the people throw rubbish there are fined, but some people continue throwing rubbish and nobody reports this situation.

I think that if the people knew the importance of the river, I'm sure they wouldn't pollute, because the rivers are vital for us. Some years later if we continue polluting we won't be able to drink water of the rivers.

I think that the illegal dumps are perjudicial; because they are very polluting and the people don´t have it in mind.

I think that the illegal dumps are very damaging for the health of the people; but the people make it be so.

The pollution that is in the forest and around the road is caused by the people that don´t respect nature.

Hello! I am Ana.
I am 14 years old and I am from Romania.
I have something to say about two aspects of garbage dumping.
Even the legal dumping is harmful when it is done without taking care of the environment. Near the big towns there are large places where garbage is brought in an organized way. I think the local authorities are more careful about them recently and found a way to dispose safely of garbage , but some time ago they were a real danger. They polluted the whole area and some people were searching for things to sell or even use themselves, which was a source of disease.
Another aspect is pollution of touristic areas . Especially the most popular leisure places are so polluted it is no longer a pleasure to visit them. It is the case of forests near Bucharest where people go for barbecue, but also a part of our beautiful mountains. There are organizations (mostly mountain loving people) that clean these places.
In the end I would like to quote the Greenpeace (and this also refers to the article about river aggressions) :"When the last tree is dead, the last river is poisoned and the last fish is caught we will realize we can't eat monney".
Bye, Ana.

The area along the Oder river, which is monitored by the school, is inhabited by homeless people who pollute the river and it is used by the illegal fishermen. This area is also used by the tourists who don’t protect the environment.
The wild dumps aren’t big, because they are difficult to access, they aren’t attractive for tourists and the banks are the wasteland. Not far from this area there is an old cement plant and there are a lot of rubbish and waste there (carried by cars), because of the lack of control. But this area is not under the school monitoring and the only thing we can do is to tell the people responsible for the area of the cement plant about the existing waste dump and to broaden the area of school monitoring in future.
The area of the Bolko Island is regularly cleaned, but you can meet here the wild waste dump of the rubble.
