Towns

DSCN0437.JPG

Ávila is a tourist town where everything spins around the walls. The Walls are a trademark for the town but they have also influenced life all through history. Palaces, mansions were built inside the wall since the late Medieval ages and the Renaissance. The narrow streets housed workshops for the different craftsmen and shops.
Urbanism today inside the walls is still the same and the economical resources in town are quite similar to the ones in the last centuries.
Try to find signs of the economical resources in this picture. Post a comment and then choose a topic among the following: Medieval Market in Ávila, Economy today or Torusim. Write a report to be published in this blog.

Medieval Market in Ávila is a good idea to bring foreigners and tourists to our city.
In the Medieval Market a lot of associations, families, friend´s groups...built their own stalls and sell their products.
Ávila streets are flooded by Medieval stalls where we can buy a lot of products.
A lot of people are disguised with Medieval clothes and everything and everybody in Ávila remembers how the city was in the Medieval Age.
The Medieval Market in Ávila is celebrated every year the first weekend September.
I think that it´s very good for the city and i like it a lot.
Some years I have been disguised, and it´s very funny.
Although Ávila is a samll city it´s a very interesting city too.

Medieval market is a traditional event in Ávila.
Every year in September a lot of people come to Ávila to sell traditional products of Ávila or other countries, for example: food, spices, flowers, pottery, clothes...as in real medieval markets.
There are different spectacles with animals, fire, play theatre, dances...
The citizens are very happy with it.
We think that the medieval market is very interesting.

The economy in Ávila mainly, is based in the tourism, because it is a town with a lot of churches, museums and other places to visit. There is a little train called "Murallito" (it is called so because of the fact that there is a big Wall (muralla) that surrounds the centre of Ávila). The little train covers all the most important places of our town. Moreover, there is very good food in Ávila.

The economy in Ávila is based on tourism. It is really important for economy in Ávila. the tourism in Ávila is concentrated in the wall that surrounds the old part of the town, the statue of Santa Teresa is situated in square "El Grande", the cathedral. Ávila is situated inthe valley "Amblés" so the people who like the country and practising sports, can find good places. Ávila is a very interesting town and you can relax visiting monument or resting in the country.

Avila is a beatiful city. She has a lot of monuments worth seeing. For example: the cathedral, it is a very old monumnet with a lot of important art for history, but Avila hasn't got onlt monuments, Avila has a lot of nature around. She's a calm city. When you are here, you can feel better than in other cities... She's a magical town.
Avila is a city whit a lot of history. Centuries ago Avila was one the most important cities in Europe. Lots of kings and queens have lived here and a lot of important battles have been fought in our town.
Nowadays, these moments when Avila was the most important city are remembered in the Medieval Market. In this festival you can feel like medieval people. The people from Avila and the foreigners dress like medieval people, you can eat tradicional food and you can buy handmade things. It's celebrated the first weekend of September.
But Avila hasn't got only this party, it has a lot of parties, the biggest party is "La Santa"with a lot of attractions for both the children an for the old people.
Definitely Ávila is a special, funny and magic town...
