The EMINENT Conference gathers every year some of the most important experts, policy makers and stakeholders working within the educational and ICT fields. Dov Winer is a psychologist (Hebrew University) who specialized in Online Education and Training (University of London) and founded MAKASH in 1989 to advance ICT applications in education.
Richard Galvin is Director of the European School Woluwe II in Brussels, Belgium.
Italian graduate of the Rome Polytechnic, Emanuele Accolla joined Texas Instruments in Italy in 1973 and went on to found his own IT company before joining Acer in 1998. He is currently Vice President ACER Europe.
Each year EMINENT conference brings together key leaders in Ministries of Education, together with their counterparts in European institutions and industry, to engage in high-level reflection and planning in the field of ICT in education in Europe. Mike Morris is Certified Design Expert and Head of Telepresence Unit at CISCO, the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate.
The EMINENT 2009 Conference will mainly focus on the issue of developing teacher and student skills for the future, hosting a number of special guests from ICT, education and industry.

Maïté Debry is Project Administrator for the Business Development, Information and Communication team at European Schoolnet. Originally from Belgium, Maïté holds a Degree in Political Sciences with a specialisation in international relations from the University of Brussels and a Master’s Degree in development studies specialised in development programmes and projects from the Catholic University of Louvain. She will be one of the panelists for the workshop on European networking for eSafety and eSkills. She will present the results of Inspire, the Innovative Science Pedagogy in Research and Education project. She will highlight the valuable role of new teaching methods to increase students’ understanding of MST and to provide young people with the fundamental skills necessary to
undertake career in the ICT sector. She will also underline the importance of innovative teaching methods to address the lack of interest in starting
scientific and ICT studies.
Caroline Kearney currently works as an education analyst for European Schoolnet, concentrating on European studies and issues of knowledge management concerning Maths, Science, ICT and innovation in education.

She will highlight the valuable role that Helplines can play in the life of young people and their parents and teachers not only as a source of information and advice but also as a service they can turn to when they experience problems on the Internet.
Anne Gilleran is the Pedagogical Manager for the eTwinning Central Support Service, run by European Schoolnet (EUN) in Brussels. She will be our host at the eLearning Awards Ceremony, introducing the competition and most of all... announcing the winners of the edition 2009!
Gavin Dykes is widely experienced in technology and learning, from classroom practice to developing and implementing national e-learning and technology policy. He has over 20 years experience of working with schools, colleges and universities, in government and with industry. His current roles include International Strategy Consultant at Becta and Associate Director of Consulting at Futurelab.
Nancy Knowlton focuses primarily on business development and strategic initiatives and is a frequent speaker on the topic of educational products and solutions for 21st century teaching and learning.
Stephen Jury’s role as Promethean Vice Chairman – Education Strategy is to advise the board on strategic issues relating to education.
Born in Australia, Janice Richardson has worked as a teacher, teacher-trainer, university lecturer and consultant respectively in Australia, France, Luxembourg and Belgium. She is author of two books and many articles on the pedagogical use of ICT and the development of information literacy.
