EMINENT 2009 speakers: Gavin Dykes

Gavin Dykes is widely experienced in technology and learning, from classroom practice to developing and implementing national e-learning and technology policy. He has over 20 years experience of working with schools, colleges and universities, in government and with industry. His current roles include International Strategy Consultant at Becta and Associate Director of Consulting at Futurelab.
For Becta, Gavin led the development of the Ministerial Programme for the Learning and Technology World Forum building on his similar role for Moving Young Minds over the previous five years; as Associate Director of the Innovation Unit he led the contribution of technology to Next Practice projects; and as a Fellow of Paris-based Education Impact he has provided advice and support to international organisations . He has also worked with the OECD to research and report on the innovative use of digital learning resources in Nordic countries. Other recent products of Gavin’s work include Malta's e-learning strategy; Becta’s report addressing the use of Networks and Communities of Practice within education and the commercial sector; and a report on international benchmarking of technology skills in the post-16 sector. He brings with him enthusiasm and passion for providing the benefits of learning and the potential of technology to all.
