All animations from the three days were then shown during the closing ceremony and as a group, all participants voted for the best ones - although overall, they were all fabulous!

Afternoon in Palermo

To take a break from workshops and enjoy the Sicilian life a bit more, the group spent the afternoon in Palermo to visit the city and experience the Palermo city life.

Between historic buildings and streets, a breath-taking cathedral and ice cream and shopping, the entire group had a great afternoon.

Animation Workshop No.1

animation_day1.jpg

Lithuanian, Polish and Spanish students work together to create great digital animation stories

In a workshop on creating digital animations using clay, Oscar Stringer showed pupils just how easy it is to create original, creative digital stories. From there, the students mixed together in groups, came up with their story lines and from there developed their very own digital stories.

The workshop was a great demonstation of intercultural teamwork as the pupils managed to mix their ideas and culture to create excellent stories. It was also a great way for them to get to know each other and make new friends.

Together in Song

During the first morning of workshop activities, Czech and Slovakian children came together to sing traditional songs after having learned about digital comic strips and podcasting.

Singing traditional songs from their respective countries, the children also came together to sing a traditional song that mixes both the Czech and Slovakian languages.

Listen to how the children used their natural singing skills to apply their new-found podcasting skills through 3 recorded tracks.

Celebrating Europe at eTwinning Camp 2007

photo3.jpg

The eTwinning Prizes 2007 winners are heading to Città del Mare, Sicily, from 25-29 April for the second annual eTwinning Camp

Awarded on 23 February in Brussels as the top eTwinning projects in Europe for the 2005-2006 school year, teachers and pupils from the three winning projects will spend three and a half days together in sunny Sicily to meet their project partners face-to-face, learn about ICT tools… and have fun!

In light of the 50th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, the theme of the Camp is “Celebrating Europe with eTwinning”. In addition to meeting friends from other countries, pupils will also spend time learning about the history and everyday running of the European institutions.

The Workshops

Pupils will learn about fun and easy ways to create animation movies from Oscar Stringer; podcasting and blogging from Bart Vanhulle and Christina Crawley; Internet safety from Sofia Aslanidou; and European institutions and celebrating Europe from Silvia Dell’Acqua and Sylvia Binger.

Teachers will work on media education from Armin Hottmann; intercultural communication from Bettina Zeidler and Marta Hunya; and Internet awareness from Sofia Aslanidou.

Cultural Activities

Taking advantage of the sunny seaside area of Città del Mare, participants will also have the opportunity to play sports and go on afternoon excursions in the area.

Following the Camp

Through this online blog, you will be able to follow how everything is going as pupils write about their experiences throughout the camp. Stay tuned for more details very soon!
