FuturEnergia Celebration day in Abel Salazar school, Portugal

On the 14th of October, our PlasticsEurope Iberica colleagues, Francisco Cimadevila and Lola Ruiz, accompanied by Mr Paulo Jorge from CIRES, were warmly welcomed to Escola Secundária Abel Salazar in Portugal, where a special day of festivities was organised to celebrate the performance of the Team who won the FuturEnergia Energy Scouts competition.

Parents Association, Students Association, teachers, Headmaster and local authorities representation participated in this FuturEnergia "national" Awards Ceremony and expressed enthusiasm and motivation to contribute further to PlasticsEurope educational programmes.

The headmaster of the school was extremely proud and expressed his gratitude to PlasticsEurope for running such programme thus enabling his school to be in the national media spotlight! As a result of this competition, the teachers have adopted FuturEnergia as part of their 2009 curriculum and found it extremely useful to raise environmental awareness among the students and the local community. This is FuturEnergia’s third consecutive year reaching out to about 1.800.000 students across Europe to help raise awareness about energy efficiency, climate protection and the important role played by plastics to help tackle these issues.
