The National Coordinators' Meeting on the Games in School Study - Paris, 08/10/08

This meeting brought together the national coordinators from 5 of the study's focus countries (Austria, Denmark, France, Italy and Spain), to discuss the state of progress with regards the different components of the study, in each country. The meeting allowed for fruitful peer learning, from the presentations given on different national contexts, as well as those regarding concrete examples of the use of games in schools in Denmark and France.

About this project

European Schoolnet is undertaking a major study sponsored by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe on the use of games in schools in Europe: video games, computer games, online games that run on consoles, computers, handhelds or mobile phones.

About the Interactive Software Federation of Europe

The interactive software industry, which includes PC and video games, reference and educational works on CD-ROM, is the European content industry's fastest growing sector with a turnover of Euro 6.1 billion in 2005, to be compared to a Euro 22.5 billion world market. It is estimated that, in 2006, the European market will reach Euro 7.25 billion. As a matter of comparison, Interactive Software weighs already as much as the EU's film video market, and significantly more than its box office market.
