Question

Dear Sir / Madam,

We are a group of English teachers from the Czech Republic who have just started a voluntary organization.
We are looking for some financial sources (grants) for our Mexican project. We have lately visited many small indigenous villages in different federal states of Mexico, looking for test communities for our pilot project in September this year. Our project is about teaching English in tourist districts in small indigenous villages. Our project is especially for villages, where some ecotouristic projects have been already started and for villages in touristic districts, where good English knowledge can bring the people a job opportunity and community development.

We dispose of a very effective and tested teaching method. There is a great interest from many Mexican communities and also from Czech and European volunteers. We would appreciate any help or information. We look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Helen Vodrazkova

Grundvig partners

Dear Petru,
thank you for forwarding to us all these mails from colleagues so far.
Could you please forward our message too?
We are a primary school in Thessaloniki, Greece and after having completed a
successful Comenius Project with our pupils we want to make the same thing with their parents. (2 years Grundvig Project)
We want to work with pupils' parents so we should have a better school performance from kids. We have already
worked on some activities but we desperately would like schools with experience in integrating parents in
school process to communicate with us and hopefully be our partners or even coordinators if they would like.
For more informations please contact me in : nikomakris@yahoo.gr or nikomakris@hotmail.com
Wish you all a wonderful summer holiday!

Call: The International Twinning Program for School Development in Romania

Dear All,

This is a call from Romania.

The International Twinning Program for School Development in Romania facilitates the contacts between approximately 495 schools from Romania assisted within the Knowledge Economy project and various schools from abroad. The schools are encouraged to find twinning partners and subsequently develop projects, with a view to establish sustainable development practices such as international cooperation between schools and between teachers, funding opportunities research, collaborative projects design and development, research of professional development opportunities for teachers.

All the twinning projects will be based on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that is computers, information systems (including mobile phones, for example), Internet and their daily applications (such as email or instant messaging programs).

The objectives to be achieved pursue the initiation of communities of practice (network of the school) to promote sharing of information and resources, providing support for the exchange of experiences/ transfer of knowledge, especially regarding European expertise, promoting best practices at regional/national level and integrate the lessons learned from previous activities / interventions, and creating international school partnerships to be continued through other projects and through the KE educational portal.

If you’re interested in joining this program and find a partner school from Romania, please register at http://scoli.ecomunitate.ro/.

The twinning program is part of the School Networking component of the Knowledge Economy Project implemented by the Government of Romania, through the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) with the financial support of the World Bank. The subcontractor of the School Networking component is the consortium Center Education 2000+ and Education 2000+ Consulting SRL.
