Discrimination

Young Europeans are not aware of discrimination around them....or are they too blind to see it?
Being discriminated against and discriminating others, they think that it is a natural thing, part of growing up. There is no shame in that. There will always be those who are bullied and those who bully, but must it be on account of religion, race, colour? Why can't it be something else?
Is this the right road for the future of Europe?

Identity of a Latvian

"The Latvian can't be easily recognized . The mask of self- confidence and inner patience safely protects his open- hearted soul. He always looks at you patiently; always ready to help whatever happens. The Latvian won't pass his friend or just a familiar without greeting him or her. Just remember that the Latvians, the same as their little country want to be free , independent."

Multi-cultural society of Latvia

We live in the EU now. As a multicultural country Latvia has culture which also reflects traditions of Russians, Belarus, Jews and many other nationalities . Culture of all these nations has mixed up and now has a great impact on everyone in Latvia.... in Latvia it is usual to celebrate both- Catholic and Ortodox Christmas. The same is with celebration of Easter. The difference between the nationalities is only in their folk traditions."

Agriculture,fishery and rural development

Agriculture, fishery and rural development
Nowadays finances to our farmers are too small. Support from the government is also too small. European subsidies often don’t get to small farms. Farmers must fill in a lot of paperwork to get some financing. Therefore I think that in future there won’t be any little farms and only big companies will be able to survive.

Retired people and jobs

In Latvia there is a big problem with pension age people. Many of them refuse to retire on a pension when they have reached that age because pensions are much lower than salaries. Therefore these people occupy their position and don’t put in action young workers.

Pensijas vecums.

Culture, art, sports

Art in the world is very important. With art we can relax. With the help of art we can learn about history and historical events. Culture is very important in people`s lives. Culture shows us who you are and what is your country. Sport is a healthy lifestyle. For some people it is life, but for others – occupation.
