English: A school project on the World Heritage Monastery of Santa Maria da Victória, Portugal
On the 21 of May students went to Batalha village to interview the tourists that came to visit the
World Heritage Monastary of Santa Maria da Victória.
This interview had the following 5 question related with European Union:
1- Do you know what was celebrated on the 9th May?
2- As you know there are some symbols of the European Union. What do the stars in its flags
represents? What is represented by the stars in the European flag?
3- Can you name at least 6 countries that take part of the European Union?
4- As you know the European Union country members share the same policies and apply the same
rules. Do you see any advantages in being part of this large community?
5- When did Portugal join the European Union?
This activity was very important to the students because they could use English in a real context and
learn about persons opinion about UE.
